XII Moscow International Horror Film Festival & Awards «DROP» (general announcement of all festival events)

Until the Apocalypse, the production company «Live Entertainment» announces the beginning of the XII Moscow International Horror Film Festival & Awards «DROP»(Moscow, September 21). The festival will end on September 25 with an awards ceremony for the winners. Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to attend a master class from leading national and foreign cinematographers of the genre. They will also be able to see dozens of premieres of full-length and short films various countries.

On the one hand,  the viewers will see painfully familiar and beloved variations with attempts to hide from the car on a flat highway, a descent into a dark basement with the question «Who is here?» and division into groups aiming to explore the area faster under the conditions of mortal danger. On the other hand, in the original passages, the fans of the genre will be confused to death by quantum uncertainty, they will also experience cognitive dissonance because of the police that arrived on time and will be pleasantly surprised by a nice guy from the village that will really turn out to be nice.

The healing sessions of the competition program will be held from September 21 till September 24 in the house of culture «Berendey» which is located at Prospekt of Marshal Zhukov, 76 (concert hall on the 2nd floor), the electronic cinema «World of Art» (33 Dolgorukovskaya str. 3) and in the VIP cinema «Coperto Cinema» (Pokrovsky Boulevard, 5). Both masters of the genre and novice interns have presented their practices to the Organizing Committee of the festival. The competition jury will mark the most effective methods with award statuettes, diplomas and valuable prizes, as well as certificates for the TV distribution of the film.

Under the motto «To get scared means to survive!» we assembled an expert jury, including Mehdi Ford (Iran) – film director and producer, member of the jury of the largest international film festivals in the world, including the MIFF; Richard Cutting (the USA) – film producer and actor; Rahit  Govardhana (India) – film director; Yuri Torsuev (Russia) – film actor; Andreas Marfori (Italy) –  film director, producer and cinematographer; Silia Perel (Mexico) – film producer and program director of many international film festivals; Ray Lee (Malaysia) – film director and producer; and Vilen Babichev (Russia) – film actor.

In order to tell the fans at the master class and the award ceremony that it is not scary to be afraid, a number of foreign guests will arrive. This year the festival focuses on the Turkish cinema horror section, and the following Turkish movie stars have already confirmed their full-time participation: Adnan Koch – film actor and pop star («Magnificent century», «East/West», «Siccin», «Fathers and sons»; Alper Mestchi – film director («Siccin 1-6», «Uc Harfliler», «Infected 1-2», «The Owner», «The Fugitive»; Sebahat Adalar – film actress («Uc Harfliler», «Siccin 4», «The promise», «The Owner», «The fugitive», «Push».  In addition to Turkish celebrities, Hollywood stars are also planning to take part in the events of the film festival:  William McNamara («Surviving the game», «Rottentail», «Age of the Living Dead», «Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde», «The Secrets of Emily Blair», «The Wicked Within», «Day of the Mummy», « The Devil’s Dozen», «Iron man», «Law and order», «Brimstone», «Hunger», «Copycat», «NYPD Blue”.), Hideo Kimura («The Game», «Deadpool 2», «Austin Powers», «Squid Game»), as well as Uwe Boll – the scandalous German director of films based on the legendary video games (“BloodRayne», «Zombie Massacre», «Under Siege», «Alone in the Dark I-II», «House of the Dead»). Besides, there will be present Alexis Di Stefano – the star of the game industry and the developer of the horror hit “MADISON”.

Foreign stars who, for one reason or another, missed the Moscow feast of mystical and deviant stories will turn to Russian fans with greetings and recommendations on how to squeeze out the maximum benefit out of fear. They will record video messages with the 25th frame mode for better and easier perception.

Eugene Gerasimov, Alexander Zlatopolsky, Daria Scherbakova, Alexander Nosik, Evgeny Gerchakov, Alexey Guskov, Michael Tikhonov, Igor Zizhikin and game developer Sergey Noskov are planning to present the national film industry at the festival.

You will be able to talk about the real horror on film sets with the aforementioned professionals on September 24 at 18:00 in the house of culture «Berendey» which is located at Prospekt of Marshal Zhukov, 76 (concert hall on the 2nd floor), where a master class (a  question-answer and an autograph session)  will take place.

And on September 25, at the same place and at the same time, together with the same star guests, you will be able to take part in the awards ceremony of the winners of the film festival. Prominent figures of genre cinema in exchange for a statuette from the stage will tell new stories about the countless sacrifices that have to be made for the sake of a high-quality thriller. Russian pop stars, as well as talented child performers — participants and finalists of top television projects «The Voice», «Junior Eurovision» and many others will also attend the show-programm. The Drop Film Festival is an open event that everyone can attend. It is a major international project and is held with the official support of the World Union of Action and Fantasy Film Festivals. The festival is included in the list of official international film festivals recognized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
