XIV «DROP» Film Festival´s results
On November 1, the 14th Drop Action Film Festival was ended in Moscow. Having started as a Horror Film Award in 2010, The Drop was held almost every year, many years ahead of other Russian horror projects. Everything mentioned is the fruit of devotion of the permanent president of the film award, a true fan of «scary movies» Viktor Bulankin.
While delivering his speech at the closing of the Film Festival, Viktor Bulankin told the audience about the history of the film award and the difficulties that any international project faces nowadays. He also mentioned that in a year the 15th anniversary Drop will be held on a much larger scale. The guests of the film award were able to ask questions about horror to the guests of the festival. Famous artist Nikas Safronov who also took part in our ceremony conveyed his wishes for further success to the «Drop» from the stage. Viktor Bulankin also presented Irina Duzgunbayeva’s book «I Slept with a Vampire,» based on the story of his own life.
Every year, the «Drop» changes the appearance of the prize statuette. There were previously ghosts and predatory plants and this year they were replaced by charming bears.
The winners of the «Drop» this year are the following participants :
*Best Russian Horror of the year: Temptation (2025), directed by Gali Bavrina;
* Best foreign Horror of the year: The Sun (USA, 2024), directed by Dominic Lahiff, USA;
* Best Foreign Action Film of the Year: I’ll Crush You All (Os reviento, Spain, 2023), directed by Jaime Arnaiz Rebollo, Spain
* Special Award for contribution to the development of thriller films genres: Alexander Vlasenko, Russia
* Special Award for contribution to the development of thriller films genres: Nikita Burachek, Russia
* Special Award for contribution to the development of film genres: Irina Duzgunbayeva, Kazakhstan
* Special Award for contribution to the development of thriller films genres: Hide Giapponese, Japan
* Musical Special Award of the Film Festival: Kaizheng, China
* Special Award to a member of the jury who has made a great contribution to the film festival: Marco Dinelli, Italy
